Argentina Holds Hearings on Glaciers Law Reform

In Argentina, Buenos Aires will host the first public hearings today on the reform of the Glaciers Law, approved by the Senate. With over 100,000 registrants, the event is being held in a hybrid format: 200 speakers will present in person today, and another 200 will do so remotely on Thursday. The opposition and environmental groups are criticizing the format, demanding an extension of the hearings, and have filed lawsuits to suspend them. However, the justice system has already rejected one such request. Authorities have also warned of traffic disruptions in the Congress area due to the high number of attendees and a planned environmentalist march.
